Ryan Lacanilao

Ryan Lacanilao is the Coordinator and Economist for the Alberta Living Wage Network. He is a sometimes economist, sometimes musician, and sometimes podcaster living on Treaty 6 Territory. He's also a poet, published in both English and Kapampangan, and you can find his writing in The Polyglot, Hungry Zine, POV Publications, and elsewhere. He's currently writing a book of letters to his 4-year-old son.

The Alberta Living Wage Network (ALWN) is a collaboration of 18 communities across the province. ALWN aims to reduce working poverty and increase the number of Albertans paid a living wage through the annual release of a living wage calculation and a certification program for living wage employers. ALWN also produces educational resources and advocates for policies that will make life more affordable for all Albertans.
