Laurel Dault
Hollyhock Leadership Institute
I co-facilitate and lead the delivery of Hollyhock's Signature Programming, including Activate, Run for Office, and Social Venture Institute (SVI), a conference for social entrepreneurs and leaders who are committed to using venture to improve the state of the world. Outside of Hollyhock, I volunteer as Project Manager for the Black Spaces Symposium, an annual gathering for Black leaders in Canada.
My career in adult education has taken me from the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, to THNK School of Creative Leadership in Amsterdam, to training women to be angel investors at Female Funders, and now finally to non-profit Hollyhock.
Living at the intersection of comedic improviser and data scientist, I love meeting new people and making connections between them. A natural public speaker with a flair for finding the fun in a tough situation, I motivate people to work together towards a common goal. I have trained as a coach with CTI, and am privileged to live on the land of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations
