Be Local YYC

"Passionate about connections. Strengths over deficiencies. Possibilities over problems. Working in social enterprise for almost 10 years now, with a focus on community and grassroot initiatives. Holistic and integrative solutions are my jam. Believer in the power of business to shake things up. It always comes down to relationships and reciprocity. Bringing people together is my superpower."

Phil is the current manager of the Calgary community network, Be Local YYC. Be Local businesses are locally-owned, operational, and maybe most importantly, community-focused. Community-focused means the business has integrated social and environmental impacts and prioritizes relationships with other local businesses and community. Be Local strives towards a local economy that is sustainable, resilient and works for everyone.

Fun Fact about Phil: He learned how to ride a motorcycle in the wicked and wonderful streets of Seoul.
