Nelson Berlin
BluPlanet Recylcing
Can you believe that Nelson used to run the Sinister 7 every year?! With mountainous ambition like that, it should come as no surprise that Nelson has a deep love for anything related to nature and adventure. Hiking, climbing, kayaking - you name it, he loves it!
Nelson and his wife (hi, Stephanie!) used to partake in a multi-day kayaking trip every single year (their favourite locations thus far have been Desolation Sound and Telegraph Cove). Now with three little ones at home, he cannot wait to start taking them on outdoor adventures and introducing them to nature - think about how fun the future kayaking trips will be! Nelson is also an avid hunter and gardener and is passionate about providing himself and his family with as much food as he can on his own.
Nelson joined BluPlanet Recycling after completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communications. With a recent move from Victoria, British Columbia, he was interested in becoming involved with a sustainable company. Enter, BluPlanet! When Nelson joined BluPlanet 12 years ago, the company was much smaller than it is today. He started out as a driver and progressed in his career as the company grew. Today, Nelson is BluPlanet’s Sr. Business Development Manager.
You may be surprised to learn that although Nelson was born in Edmonton, he was raised in Chicago, Portland and Calgary.
What’s on his bucket list? Venturing up to Northern Canada to see Narwhals!
