Diverse Roots Foundation

Natacha, originally from Haiti, has lived in Calgary since 1988 with her three daughters. A University of Calgary nursing graduate, she’s worked with Alberta Health Services as a staff nurse and Clinical Nurse Educator since 2007—the first Black nurse in this role in Calgary. She’s taught at Rosewood and Bow Valley Colleges and advocates lifelong learning. Deeply engaged in community work, she founded Diverse Roots Foundation (formerly known as Haiti Alberta Sports et/and Culture Club), securing multiple grants for youth and seniors' programs. Inspired by Harriet Tubman and Florence Nightingale, Natacha aims to support and develop communities in Haiti. She enjoys family time, reading, watching Haitian movies and volunteering at church.
