Karina Birch
Rocky Mountain Soap Company, CEO
Karina Birch is the co-owner and CEO of Rocky Mountain Soap Company; a Canadian natural cosmetic brand rooted in purpose and place. Karina founded the company in 2000 alongside her husband, Cam Baty, in the small mountain town of Canmore, Alberta.
What began as a modest shop with just two employees has grown into a trusted brand with 14 retail stores and more than 200 handcrafted everyday essentials—all made with natural ingredients and a commitment to sustainability.
Karina holds a Business degree from the University of Alberta and completed the Owner/President Management program at Harvard Business School. Her leadership is grounded in authenticity and heart, fostering a workplace culture that values creativity, resilience, and environmental responsibility.
Beyond the business, Karina is a dedicated community builder. She actively supports organizations such as Girls Forward and Spirit North, which empower girls and Indigenous youth through sport. She also serves on the board of the Canmore Hospital Foundation and volunteers with Parks Canada.
Karina’s work reflects her belief that business can be a force for good—rooted in nature, guided by values, and built to uplift both people and place.
